I have remained silent on a number of issues of late. From the Japanese tragedy to the Libyan civil war and the American response. I thought that I would pull back and take a bird's eye view of the situation in the Middle East and I am bitterly disappointed with President Obama's performance. Aside from his Marxist policies and the harm that they have done to the nation, his foreign policy is even worse.
From his world apology tours for the arrogance and tyranny of the United States to going abroad and whoring the office of the President to the IOC in order to bring the summer Olympics to Chicago and failing, President Obama has been a disaster as a foreign policy President. In the recent case of Egypt, he remained silent and voiced no opinion until he was pushed into it by his critics and by the time he piped up, it was far too late to have any effect. To make matters worse, he sided with both the protestors and the Mubarak regime leaving both faction confused as to the American position. While Obama was waffling, the Egyptians were waiting for clear and decisive leadership and it did not come.
With Libya, Obama made the U.S. position about as clear as mud when he did another soft shoe routine regarding Gaddafi's attack on civilians. Obama made some fairly decent threats, but he did nothing to back them up. He then left any possible military action up to the world governments resulting in a paralysis of action until Europe and NATO stepped in to lead by default. The President did commit our military to enforcing a no-fly zone, but only for a matter of weeks and then American forces would withdraw resulting in a less than effectual application of force if the objective was indeed to spare civilian lives.
The end result? Gaddafi is still killing civilians, but now he is pissed off at both Europe and the United States and may once again turn to terrorism and the training of terrorists. Thank you Mr. President and Secretary Clinton for your astonishing lack of leadership and insight. About the only thing that could be worse is if the White House left the nuclear football at Denny's by mistake back in Chicago. Hope and change may make for a good sound bite, but it blows like the North wind for foreign policy.
The President who would be King did not even have the common courtesy to seek the approval of the Congress before he launched his foreign policy nightmare. Needless to say, both Republicans and Democrats were outraged. The White House's reaction to the Congressional criticism? Screw 'em, not in those words exactly, but the meaning was nevertheless clear. Hope and change can be a bit arrogant I suppose.
But then look who we have at the helm, because Barrack Obama sure as hell is not making the decisions. A man that voted "present" the vast majority of the time he was a legislator does not do an about face and take up the reins of leadership. The President is listening to the likes of Richard Trumka, Andy Stern, George Soros, and the ever popular absentee slum lord, Valerie Jarret. But shhhh...the American people and the world aren't supposed to know that our President is just an empty suit. Hell, the Obama administration does not even know when the Commander and Chief is due back and accidentally locked him out of the White House, leaving the President to run around checking doors to see if he could find an open one. The situation was funny, but it was also sad because it spoke volumes about the efficiency of the administration.
With his current record and list of failures, I have no doubt that President Obama will go down in history as the most worthless President in the history of the United States. Of course, this will finally improve Bill Clinton's legacy tremendously. No longer will he be remembered for his leavings on a blue dress as the nation will have the piss poor example of President Obama to ruminate over. What's even worse is that we did this to ourselves.
Sure the main stream media foisted that huckster on us, sure they invented stories to divert attention away from Obama's shocking lack of qualifications, sure they glossed over the racist remarks of Joe Biden and Harry Reid in order to place the Democrats in the best possible light, and they did create a secret cabal designed to cripple the Republicans while promoting the Democrats and their policies. In fact, I daresay that the news media has failed us all in an inglorious manner. Let us pray that they have expended the last of their trust between themselves and the citizens of the Republic. Else we may need to pursue them in order to hold them accountable for their devious actions.
But despite the propaganda foisted on the American people, the miniscule stories about Obama's racist minister, his terrorist connections, his lack of executive qualifications, his lies about knowing Bill Ayers despite having begun his political career in his home, and the lies about having absolutely no connection to ACORN despite having trained them and representing them in their suit against City Mortgage was not enough to instill doubt in the minds of the electorate.
Nope, we bought his con about hope and change and "yes, we can," hook, line, and stinker. Hell, even his wife gave us a clue about themselves when she declared during the campaign that for the first time in her life, she was proud of her country. Did anybody care? Apparently not. So now we have an idiot in the Oval Office playing football with the Australian Prime Minister and it looks like he's even failing doing that. I guess there is a reason that he is always at the golf course.
That brings me to my final point, the world is going to Hell in a hand basket and American leadership is absent. During the Gulf spill there was no leadership. During the debate on healthcare there was no leadership and Obama even admitted that he didn't know what was in the bill anymore than the American citizens, when Tunisia erupted and began the political chain reaction in the Middle East Obama was again absent. It was only when Libya began killing its own citizens in earnest that Obama was forced into action because the Europeans and NATO took the reins and begged for American support.
Did Obama go to the U.S. Congress and tell them what he was going to do? No. Did the President address the nation and tell us why military action was necessary? No. He just sent a fleet to the Mediterranean and fired Tomahawk missiles into Libya. If George Bush was a cowboy for Afghanistan and Iraq and he DID go to Congress and tell them what he wanted to do and got their support and also told the American people what he wanted to do and why it was necessary, what does that make Obama who did neither of these things?
Leadership is about getting out in front and taking charge. A leader does not wait to see which way the wind is blowing before making a decision, he assess the situation and then formulates a plan to deal with it and initiates it. President Obama does not do that. He dithers. He wrings his hands and moans about which course of action he should take while he presumably begs Andy Stern and Richard Trumka for advice.
Regardless of how that idiot makes decisions, it is blatantly obvious that the world is burning and Obama is an absent voice on the world's stage. Imagine the consequences if Obama had been President during other periods of history. What if he had occupied the Oval Office during World War II? Or during the Cuban missile crises? How would voting "present" on those issues have turned out?
Leaders are not born they are made, but one must possess the necessary requirements for the forging. Obama is a good bullshit artist, but as a national leader all he has produced is one gigantic failure after another and even Jimmy Carter was not as bad as he is and apparently even Chris Mathews thinks so when he slipped and said Carter's name instead of Obama's.
With the winds of revolution continuing to spread throughout the Middle East, we are a long ways from shore on the ocean of non-existent foreign policy. But remember, we did this to ourselves. Votes have consequences and when they are misused dire consequences result. That is a lesson that we should never forget because we are living through the results of such a situation today. With Obama and his people working to dismantle our Intel agencies, weakening our border security, and dismantling our national security, pray that we do not come under attack here at home. Because the last thing that you want to do is hang your personal survival on that jackass.

Excellent essay, William!
You've put into a reasoned essay what I've been wanting to say but haven't had the time or energy to compose.
America has indeed brought disaster down upon our own heads by voting in BHO on November 8, 2008.
BTW, next week I'll be linking to this essay as "Today's Recommended Reading" -- probably on Friday.
Good post. It is really scary to think that B. Obama's tenure could make Bill Clinton's legacy better.
Amazing.
BTW, I have added Paladin's Page to my blog roll. I would appreciate the same.
Thanks,
Bob
AoW- Thank you for the praise and the honor of the link. It really means a lot to me :-)
Bob- Welcome to Paladin's Page and thank you for including me in your blog roll. You have been added to mine :D
Great post. I only pray that his Middle East fiasco is just that, and not any sort of Foreign Policy. If it is, then it is intentionally planning to turn over the Middle East to the Muslim Brotherhood or worse.
William, you truly out did yourself on this post!
2012 can't come fast enough, but as for right now, we need to pray.
did u hear the libs already spinning this treachery Bill..maddening I tell u! have a great weekend..what's left of it!:)
Umm William, I echo the sentiments of others here...this is brilliant and I'm gonna link it at some stage.
"The President who would be King did not even have the common courtesy to seek the approval of the Congress before he launched his foreign policy nightmare."
And i must point out, remember how the left smeared Bush as a nazi and a fascist, so how come obama isn't a fascist and nazi for getting into this illegal war?
"It was only when Libya began killing its own citizens in earnest that Obama was forced into action because the Europeans and NATO took the reins and begged for American support."
I heard obama waffling about this on the evening news, saying how he wasn't going to wait for the pictures of dead civilians to come first, but he said he didn't want another iraq. The guy is a liberal halfwit because - he intervened in Libya because of civilians but won't stay for long, meaning once he gets bored and finds some other crap to entertain him, he'll scram. Then when Gaddafi resumes killing civilians, what's he going do, say that the pictures of dead civilians isn't so bad anymore?
"Because the last thing that you want to do is hang your personal survival on that jackass."
Those fools in libya have hung their fortunes on the jackass, wait till they find out he's long gone and they're on their own, then the world will finally realize that obama really is the most worthless President in the history of the United States.
MK does turn a nifty word, doesn't he?
OTH, I finally figured out what the Obama Doctrine is all about. First, you make lots of noise, and then do nothing but try and look like you have been working hard.
Guess I keep coming late to these parties.
Patrick- Thank you for the kind words and the honor of a link sir.
MK- You always drill down to the truth. I couldn't agree with your position any more, my friend.
Bob- Indeed he does :-)
Thanks everyone for taking the time to post a comment :-)
I have just returned from the EU -[the folk there are continually vacation bound)-they do not work as we do-- they criticizes us in the US while our BEST continue to defend them -- they get LOTS of our $$$ too?-I have no respect for the EU countries and I want our BEST be brought home to fight here --here at home--
Where was France when Regan bombed Gaffi-Oh I remeber! we lost two pilots because that supposed 'ally' would not let our BEST fly over their country to get to Libya .
BTW-let's bring our BEST home from the EU---did I already state that?!
C-CS.
Wow. Brilliantly done sir. I think you just gave a summary of what most of us have been thinking.
The One was going to show us all how to fight a war.
I laugh loudly and longly were it not for the fact this is real.
Paladin--
Nice post. I generally do not stray from AOW's page, but I found your essay most interesting.
If George Bush was a cowboy for Afghanistan and Iraq and he DID go to Congress and tell them what he wanted to do and got their support and also told the American people what he wanted to do and why it was necessary, what does that make Obama who did neither of these things?
-------------------------
Probably makes him not much different. At least his claim that he wanted to stop a bloodbath can be given some credence.
Bush on the other hand had the right wing bed wetters convinced that the crack Muslim spec-ops were going to night drop and sprinkle botulism and anthrax on your Wheaties.
Just a matter of how the appeals are made.
I posted the link to your essay today.
That brings me to my final point, the world is going to Hell in a hand basket and American leadership is absent.
-------------------
Is there some reason to believe the two are connected?
Christian soldier --- whom do you want the troops to fight here at home?
Mexicans? Non Protestants? Leftists?
Anyone who thinks Sarah Palin is a bimbo?
Very well laid out, Bill, as always!
You have a way of expressing perfectly what I've been thinking but haven't really been able to put into words.
"At least his claim that he wanted to stop a bloodbath can be given some credence."
Indeed? Then why did it take him so long to act and then only at the behest of Europe? Also, if the protection and preservation of life is his agenda, then why are we no longer engaged in combat operations to protect life? More importantly, why are American forces absent from the horrors of Myanmar and Darfur? I don't buy your assertion.
"...convinced that the crack Muslim spec-ops were going to night drop and sprinkle botulism and anthrax on your Wheaties."
Are you saying that the events of 9/11 were much ado about nothing? More people died in that attack than died at Pearl Harbor. The attacks on the twin towers were attacks on civilians in a civilian city. Pearl Harbor was a military strike at a military base. Additionally, the terror strike on 9/11 was the first time that a terror strike rose to the level of a military surprise attack.
What I, and President Bush, realized at the time is that 9/11 changed the rules. No longer can we bury our heads in the sand or simply think happy thoughts. Terrorism is now a threat to national security in the same way that an enemies military was and is. What's more, terrorism has proven far more effective at carrying out such strikes than would a foreign military. Think about that for a second, any foreign nation would be hard pressed to move troops into position for a surprise attack, that is not true for Islamic terrorists.
That is why Afghanistan had to be attacked and that is why Iraq also fell. As for the WMD's, guess what? We did find them. Later than anticipated, not well reported, but they were there. So that argument goes out the window for the left. Saddam Hussein ignored 17 United Nations resolutions, at what point do you say "enough is enough?' Even President Bill Clinton said that the war in Iraq was justified and necessary, as did the Congress of the United States of America. At least before they changed their minds when some of them started out on the campaign trail.
So while we right wing "bed wetters" may be all wet in your opinion, you have nothing, but your personal feelings to back up your assertions.
"Is there some reason to believe the two are connected?"
Are you shitting me? The United States has led the free world since World War II. Like it or not, we emerged as the leader of the free world. That means that the world looks to the U.S. to see how we want to deal with an issue. That doesn't mean that we drive world opinion, but it does mean that NATO and the West looks to us for cues.
When Great Britain could no longer afford that responsibility after World War II, they told us that it was either take the reins or let the world fall into war yet again. In short, we had little choice in the matter after having lost so many souls in worldwide combat. Blood is expensive coin and when one has spend much of it, you do not wish to continue spending it.
The U.S. created NATO and stationed our troops in Europe to defend her. American tax dollars went to rebuild Europe after World War II. American tax dollars support regimes all over the world. In fact, the vast majority of the world governments are supported by American tax dollars. If that isn't a clear cut view of American world leadership, then I don't know what is.
All of this adds up to President Obama's shocking lack of leadership. If the U.S. voice is absent on the world stage and President Obama is the leader of the free world, then yes, there is a connection between the lack of leadership and the world going to hell in a hand basket.
Therefore in the future, I suggest that you educate yourself on these issues before you go shooting your mouth off. Opinions are great when you are in your cups down at the local tavern, but in the world of politics, opinions are worth nothing if they are not based on facts. So take a cue from us "bed wetter" types who actually have facts upon which to base our opinions rather than to simply troll and make ad hominem attacks.
