After long years of ridicule, abuse, and hostility the government has been sent a message that was loud, clear, and insistent. The TEA party, disorganized and leaderless, has overcome the organized establishment and made clear the demands of ordinary citizens. Will government listen? I doubt it.
While it is true that the DNC is shocked and Nancy Pelosi is pouting, the beating wasn't as bad as it could have been and therein lies the problem. Politicians are strange in that they actually believe that they can ridicule and be actively hostile to the electorate and be re-elected by that same band of fools that put them there in the first place. It is an ultimate arrogance that cannot be reasoned with or talked down. If you don't believe me then I suggest that you view the videos of last years town halls and try some of that with your employer and see how long you remain employed. Arrogance leads to false pride and it can only be voted out of office because the politician will never drain the swamp of Washington because he sees nothing wrong. Thus it becomes, as it has always been, the job of the electorate.
Yesterday's election was historic, but the 1994 election was historic as well and we all know how that turned out. I expect the exact same results this time as well and that is why our second objective should be the establishment of term limits in Congress. When a person is sent to Washington, we are sending them into the lion's den and corruption follows after a few years. The politician learns to lie, he learns how to hide his dirty dealings, and he learns your government better than any citizen. That is why corruption always follows in a few years. Term limits would nip that problem in the bud.
The third objective that we need to address is the shocking malfeasance of the main stream media. By skewing the stories to the left the media hopes to influence the mind of the public toward the left and it is clear that while their influence is waning, it still had an impact on the elections in Nevada, Massachusetts, and Delaware. Such a thing is an evil because news organizations no longer seek to report the events of the day, but to manipulate and that is a direct threat to freedom. The hope is that the citizen will be too busy with the chores of daily living to notice and simply accept the leftist view of the world without question and that is exactly how Obama became President. Had the media done its job and merely reported the news objectively rather than climbing into bed with the DNC Obama would never have become President.
We cannot afford to rest upon our laurels or we will surely lose the end game. We must reorganize and re-energize our efforts toward 2012 and keep the momentum going. As the Democrats shift into survival mode they will lie and pose as conservatives and profess a love of freedom and thrift. Don't believe them. They are deceiving you as they did after the 1994 election. They will tell you whatever they think will get them elected and then chuckle as the go about publishing their Marxist agenda for America. Isn't it strange that the enemies that you defeat today come back re-branded in another form to accomplish the exact thing that got them booted out of office the first time.
Recall how after America rejected Hillarycare the Democrats were booted out of office in 1994 only to have them shove it down our throats in 2009? Don't believe for a second that they are not thinking about doing exactly that all over again. We have not won. All we did yesterday is to take the first steps toward freedom from the socialist utopia envisioned by the DNC. We need to continue down that path because resting now would be suicide.
Our trail is a long one and it will be some years before we can once again hang our musket over the mantle, but if we are resolute we will secure freedom for both ourselves and the West.

Huzzzzzzzzzah!..time to celebrate even the small victories BILL!..cheers!
We have a long way to go and the Tea Party members are not going anywhere. We will grow in strength and will continue the grassroots effort.
We had a lot of wonderful victories last night. I am very happy.
One thing for sure, this election was just the start. We need to make sure we keep the pressure on the new members of Congress, letting them know we expect them to keep their promise to rein in government. Let them know, if they do not, we know what to do about it. That is the only way this is going to work.
Angel- I agree :-)
Leticia- I am glad to hear it. In our darkest hours the TEA party stood firm and gave us a cause to rally around.
LD Jackson- I couldn't agree with you more. We certainly need to insure that they do exactly what they said they were going to do and if they don't we need to show them the door.
Well said, Bill-- we can't think that the battle is over. If we do those we elected will surely get lazy and corrupt.
And if we must elect senators (I'm for repealing the 17th amendment), then yes, they should at LEAST have term limits!
Karen- I am for the repeal of the 17th amendment as well. By making U.S. Senators the product of public elections the States have lost their voice in the Federal government and we have seen the problems that arise from that path. I would definitely support a repeal of the 17th amendment for that reason. Perhaps then we could finally be rid of Harry Reid.
You are 100% right, this is only the beginning and the left will be back, it's who they are, treachery is in their dna, they can't help but sell us out.
In many ways we can never hang our musket over the mantle, we can only pass it on to the next generation when we are done.
"Our trail is a long one and it will be some years before we can once again hang our musket over the mantle..."
Great image!!!-and -yes- the left is in this for the loooong term-we must start thinking the same way---it will take 60 - 80 years to get back to Constitutional percepts..and that can happen only if we get our education system back and the original Constitutional outline back into this government-thus - the history of this Republic must be taught...
It wouldn't hurt to focus on getting rid of the 'elites' in the R party either...
Great post!!!
Carol-CS
I'm watching closely what the Republicans are saying and doing. We cannot let the old guard corrupt the new folks.

Although the Dems will never admit it the Tea Party did play a huge role in the wins.
have an amazing weekend my friend..good things happening !
Like Angel said, we have to celebrate the small victories Bill, and yet this time, we have to do something we never did before. And that is, stay in the game. Stay alert to the things career politicians like Pelosi, Reid, and liberals of all bents do. And vow to stop them at every corner. This time I was sorrowed to see Reid win against Angle, but in that the DNC put money in it...RNC didn't. We have to step up the fight and with the next election ratchet up the battle. We will win, but only if we do that. Go back to sleep, and the same thing will happen as what happened in 92.
Leticia- While the Dems would not recognize the TEA party, The Republicans and the American people do. The TEA parties spontaneously emerged because ordinary people were fed up with the lunacy of their government. They have been demonized, insulted, marginalized, and ignored by the left because that is not an ideology that the Tea parties agree with and the left saw them as a threat to their power. I suppose that they were right about that since so many leftists and RINOs were removed from office :-).
While the American people have awakened, it is not enough. Freedom requires active and independent protectors and the free individual is the best defender of liberty. I have said many times that freedom is not free and that its price is personal responsibility. That is the lesson that we desperately need to pass on to our children.
Wiseconservative- Welcome to Paladin's Page! I was disappointed by that race as well and it is one of the reasons that I am still angry with the Republican party. In addition to abandoning the conservative principles that won them the majority in '94 they have also grown timid and hesitant. If one acts on principle then it is best to be bold about it and I cannot see Michael Steele being bold. It is time for the GOP to move aggressively toward re-establishing conservatism on Capitol Hill.
Thanks so much to all who have commented! I appreciate your time especially since I know how busy modern life has become. That you would take your time to visit my site and comment is greatly appreciated!

Exactly.
Conservatives mustn't get too smug.
As long as the mainstream media have credibility, defeating the Dems again will still be an uphill battle.
hope your'e havin a great weekend my friend!:)
Yes this could have been a greater victory but for right now it will do as far as I'm concerned. The hard working people who turned the tide (the Tea Party and it's supporters etc) should celebrate this massive slap in the face of OBAMA.
However, yes, 2012 looms and that clown MUST be kicked out. There is plenty of hard work ahead, but this is no excuse not to celebrate the "small victories"...
