Back in the 1990's people were afraid that Nancy Pelosi would one day become the Speaker of the House if the Democrats ever took over. Many said that she was far too liberal being almost an extremist ideologue. I thought the same, but I have been proven wrong by history. In fact, Nancy Pelosi is a microcosm of exactly why the Democrats took such a massive beating this past election.
First, she is a far left wing adherent. She pushed the single payer healthcare initiative in the house, ruined dozens of political careers in order to get it through, and lied about both the cost and extent of the legislation. She even famously said that in order for the American people to know what was in the bill it had to become law first. So much for representation in the legislative process.
When more conservative elements within her party began to express concerns about their political survival she brushed them aside and told them point blank that some political careers would be sacrificed in order to progress the leftist agenda of socialism and the welfare State. She also brushed aside Constitutional concerns regarding the steady progress toward socialism ridiculing anyone who challenged her mad dash to the consolidation of leftist power in the Federal government.
She and the left even encouraged the Federal government to declare themselves as enemies of the right and sent the Department of Homeland Security for us. They called us Nazis and right wing terrorists and then deplored our protests as hate speech and racism. Not since Woodrow Wilson has the Federal government been this hostile to the people of the United States when citizens were jailed for dissent. While Pelosi and the left taunted and prodded, they could never get the right to resort to violence as the left had once done against their neighbors.
That is because the right is driven by reason and not by passion. Pelosi revels in the negative emotions of anger, hatred, and vitriol. All one needs to do in order to confirm this charge is to attend a leftist rally. You will notice that the air is charged with negative emotions and barely contained hatred for the right. As such, they are beyond reason because one does not think rationally when one is in such a state. Think back to your own experiences, have you ever done your best thinking when you were angry or upset? Yet the left keeps their foot soldiers thus charged in order to prevent them from thinking about their actions. Hence the same old, tired, two, four, six, eight, something that rhymes with eight chants to keep the troops motivated. When people are held just on the raggedy edge it sometimes happens that they occasionally fall over the edge into violence. This is why whenever these people protest there are several arrests that follow.
Pelosi covers for the violent tendencies of her followers by charging that the hatred of the right will burn America to the ground. Recall her now infamous speech regarding the use of the term Nazi and the hatred that was inflamed by it as she tearfully reminisced? The only problem with her recollection is that it was her people that did these terrible things and not the right. It isn't that Nancy Pelosi is disconnected from reality. It is that she is pursuing an agenda. What does it matter if she tells a few lies on the way or throws an Intelligence agency under the bus?
She first threw the Air Force under the bus because they did not see the need for her to be provided with a larger jet than Denny Hastert. They also did not see the need to change her landing site to a closer airport so she wouldn't have a two hour drive to get back to her home in California. Ms. Pelosi didn't take too kindly to that. She is the Speaker of the House after all and has the brass balls and she began to put the screws to the Air Force in order to force them to comply with her will. Fortunately for the Air Force the story became national news and dear old Nancy was forced to relent, but that wasn't the only government agency to feel her displeasure.
When Ms. Pelosi said that she had never been advised that water boarding was being performed on terror suspects and derided the CIA for incompetence, she delivered a show that the American people had never seen before. The CIA produced documents and records that proved, once and for all, that Nancy Pelosi is a liar. Pelosi's tap dancing to reporter's questions proved nearly vaudevillian in virtuosity. The CIA not only proved that the Speaker had been advised prior to any such interrogation, but they had advised her THREE times. Liar, liar, pants on fire Ms. Pelosi.
How can you trust a person that tells blatant lies and attempts to destroy the reputations of others in order to save their own ass? Would that not signal a desperate lack of integrity and individual character? Had she done that and been under my command I would have terminated her right then and there. I don't tolerate liars. The Democrats on the other hand do.
When she ran for House minority leader she easily defeated her opponent. That speaks volumes about the character and morals of the Democratic Party. One can imagine how Howard Dean and the rest of the Democrats snickered when Ms. Pelosi spoke about draining the swamp in Washington or about the howls of laughter as she told the American people that she would preside over the most ethical and open Congress in the history of the United States. The culture of corruption is alive and well in the Democratic Party.
In fact, I believe that if the Dems were not in so bad a shape for the last election nothing would have been said about the corruption of Charles Rangel or Maxine Waters. In addition to lying for fun and profit, Pelosi and the Democrats have been marching steadily toward the ideals of Marx and the Fabian socialists, but shhhh...don't tell anyone.

Did I mention that Bill Ayers is now a college professor and passes his tainted ideology on to his students? Did I also mention that the President of the United States, and many in his cabinet are good friends with that nut job?
Pelosi and her ilk are so embedded in the ideology of Marx and collectivism that they are blinded to any limitations of Federal power. That is why she was incredulous when she was challenged by a reporter on the Constitutionality of her actions. The American people however were not amused and Pelosi and company felt the voters wrath. Did they learn from this experience? Not really.
What they leaned is that they have to submerge their leftist agenda in order to hide it from the American people while they lie to them and tell them that they are only interested in their betterment. How do we know that the left submerges its agenda? Why, when the National Endowment for the Arts tried to subvert taxpayer dollars for the leftist agenda they came right out and said that they need to develop code words that would blind the public to their true intentions. You really have to love a political ideology that lies to your face and tries to destroy you for telling the truth. Hmmm....isn't that what Nancy tried to do to the CIA?
Anyways, Nancy and the left have no love for the troops, American values, the truth, faith, and virtue. All they care about is winning at any cost. It does not matter how many lies they tell or how many lives they ruin so long as they can ascend to political victory. That is why they seek to bring amnesty to illegals. That particular group of lawbreakers would be a boon to the Democrats as they will most assuredly vote for the goodies that the Democrats will give them. It is also why the Democrats want to see voting machines in prisons and jails while they work to suppress the votes of the men and women serving in the military.
While some folks view Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Democrats as saints, I see them as a gangrenous hand which needs to be amputated. The corruption and putrefaction of the Democrats will spread and will one day destroy the United States of America. Know these people and know their ideology. Most of the time, when leftists out themselves as the hard-statits they are, they lose elections in America. San Fran Nan can be everything you say she is, but her constituency of sad-sack soft-hearted liberals insulate Pelosi from the consequences of her voting record.
Carol- I believe that you are right. The acquisition of power is the sole objective of the left and everything else is a smokescreen. The sad truth is that they will do anything they need to in order to gain that power. They have proven many times over that the ends justify any means.

You have the ordinary Dems, and then you have radical revolutionary socialists who literally do want a revolution-- Bill Ayers, for example.

Karen- That is where I think that Beck has hit the nail on the head. When the Democrats got into bed with the far left they mistakenly believed that they could rein them in. Unfortunately for the Democrats they took sides with a loose canon. Bill Ayers and his wife, and most of the left's intelligentsia are stone cold Marxists and they are burning for blood to be spilled in the street. They are adrenaline junkies that gravitate to chaos and disorder and where there is none they will create it.
Thus the Democrats find themselves navigating dangerous waters with these folks aboard. The DNC promised these people that they would see their radical agenda achieved without the bloodshed they envisioned in the sixties and seventies and so they "dropped the radical pose for the radical ends." Now that the DNC has reneged on their part of the bargain they must now deal with the radicals throwing bombs within their own party, figuratively speaking. Hence the dis to Nancy Pelosi by Code Pink.
