The Left Rides Again

What I find most interesting about our economy today is that we have supplanted one bubble for another. While it is true that the housing bubble burst leading to the current dire economic situation in the United States, it is also true that this has led to worldwide economic troubles. What then, is going to happen when the current bubble bursts? We are trillions of dollars in debt, have printed money that we do not have any way to back, and are continuing to spend like we have massive reserves. Add in the fact that we are massively increasing the size and power of the Federal government in order to institute a national change to a welfare state and the picture completes itself.

If our economic troubles were being looked after by a man of great economic acumen and skill, then one would at least have a reasonable chance of escaping great harm, but President Obama and his administration has more experience dodging taxes than repairing the damage that the Democrats have done to the economy. Years before the housing bubble burst, the Republicans attempted to sound the alarm about Fannie and Freddie, but the hue and cry fell upon deaf ears. Chairman Frank decried the warnings as nothing more than political hype and praised the leadership of Franklin Raines who later went on to advise Barrack Obama about economic issues. The fact that Barney Frank and his assorted stooges were on the dole of Fannie and Freddie was never disclosed by their accomplices in the main stream media. I suppose that the leftist rant about speaking truth to power only applies to the opposition.

When government does its level best and fails one cannot blame the government too much, but when government ignores the danger because it has been paid to be blind to it that is another matter altogether. This is the sin of Barney Frank and his cohorts. That they now seek to pin their malfeasance upon the party that attempted to avoid the economic troubles that we now shoulder is too much. Worse, the fact that Nancy Pelosi torpedoed a 700 billion dollar bailout bill in favor of the Senate bill with 150 billion in mad money is reprehensible. The main stream media said nothing about that either. Had Pelosi been a Republican what would have been the likely headlines do you think?

For over a decade, conservatives have said that the main stream media is biased toward the left and for over a decade the main steam media has denied it. Then we witness the open hostility demonstrated by the media towards citizens that object to the financial enslavement of our children and their descendants and their bias comes into sharp focus. Abandoning all professional pretenses, the media declared these citizens to be racists, to be biologically defective, to possess substandard intelligence, and to be rednecks. They characterized these citizens as nothing short of sub-human. Those who did not partake in the character assassination of the citizen protestors descended into crude sexual humor worthy of a sixth-grader. Such is the state of the main stream media today, businesses that are currently licking their chops waiting for Federal bailout money to subsidize income due to flagging readers and viewers who see them for who they are and what they represent.

The tea parties were the first true examples of bipartisanism in decades. Some of the attendees were Democrats who are disgusted by the actions of their party. Some were Republicans who bore the same feelings. Some were independent voters. But all of them were ridiculed by the media. The freedom of expression is the air that the main steam media breathes each and every day and for them to ridicule others for exercising the same right is a level of hypocrisy not seen before in the United States.

If a simple disregard for the rights and money of others were not enough, the left also does not esteem competence in one’s daily occupation. The Heritage Foundation recently reported that “EPA administrator Lisa Jackson was forced to admit she had not even read the Waxman-Markey carbon taxing bill before her agency released a report claiming the economic impact of cap and trade legislation would be “modest.” Asked how the EPA could produce a report on a bill they hadn’t even read yet, Jackson said: “We had to make assumptions.””

Imagine if Ms. Jackson were in charge of National Health care and were making decisions that would literally affect whether you live or die, would you really want her be making assumptions or dealing with fact? Another jewel in the leftist government is one Secretary of Energy Steven Chu. Secretary Chu once expressed a burning interest in raising the price of gasoline in the United States to over $8.00 a gallon to be on par with Europe. This inspired the following exchange in the House:

REP. CLIFF STEARNS, R-Fla.: Last September you made a statement that somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe, which at the time exceeded $8 a gallon. As Secretary of Energy, will you speak for or against any measures that would raise the price of gasoline?

SEC. CHU: As Secretary of Energy, I think especially now in today’s economic climate it would be completely unwise to want to increase the price of gasoline. And so we are looking forward to reducing the price of transportation in the American family. And this is done by encouraging fuel-efficient cars; this is done by developing alternative forms of fuel like biofuels that can lead to a separate source, an independent source of transportation fuel.

REP. STEARNS: But you can’t honestly believe that you want the American people to pay for gasoline at the prices, the level in Europe?

SEC. CHU: No, we don’t.

REP. STEARNS: No. But somehow, your statement, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe,” doesn’t that sound a little bit silly in retrospect for you to say that?

SEC. CHU: Yes.

Silly it may be, but the Obamamessiah was not the President yet was he? Was Secretary Chu lying about his desired price for a gallon of gasoline in order to protect the leftist agenda in Washington? What happened to the leftist ideals that drove that statement in September? Does Secretary Chu remain a dedicated radical? That is the trouble with the left, it has proven time and again that it cannot be trusted.

James Madison said, “"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite." Yet, the leftists in the Federal government seek to impose their will upon the states in defiance of their Governors and legislatures. While you may have heard of Rick Perry, the Governor of Texas, what you have not heard is that legislation asserting State Sovereignty is in the pipeline in twenty states of the union. Not since before the Civil War has this level of discontent been in the American blood stream. I implore my fellow citizens to write and call your elected officials and let them know what you think about their performance in Washington. The politicians there no longer fear the wrath of the American citizens that they were elected to serve and it is high time that they be reminded of their boss’s displeasure.

Let us re-unite as citizens of a noble and caring nation and show those who spit in our face and upon our values the error of their ways.

It is Official: Conservatives Are Now Extremists

Janet Napolitano, who once said that law enforcement officers were unpatriotic for enforcing the law, has declared that conservatism is an extremist ideology. Move over Osama Bin Laden, we need to make room for Thomas Sowell, George Will, and Fred Thompson. It is interesting that President Obama pals around with un-apologetic terrorists who are tormented by not having killed enough, but still finds time to declare American conservatives radicals. That this move comes during a time when the word “terrorism” has been replaced with “man made disaster” is also telling. However, if I am to be branded an “extremist” by the Federal government, then I believe that I share good company.

I share the title of “extremist” with such men as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Jay, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Paine. Men, who would no doubt, bear the brand of terrorists by the Obama administration if they were still living. I have called these tactics of the left fascist before, and I stand by that term. Further, Obama’s own political hero, Abraham Lincoln, would also be branded an extremist. That the Department of Homeland Security has done this and now seeks to enlist local law enforcement to “keep an eye” on conservatives is reprehensible. I have enforced the laws of my community, given service to the Commonwealth of Virginia, and treated the sick and injured among my neighbors as a volunteer emergency medical services worker for six years and this is how I am repaid by President Obama’s administration.

Today, there are thousands of American citizens who are voicing their opinion about their Federal government. Americans are angry. We are angry about not having a voice in Washington, angry about our elected representatives thinking that we serve them and not the other way around, angry that hundreds of billions of dollars of our money is being used for mad money by politicians looking to buy votes and pay off friends, angry that the President has cast aside his dignity to pay homage to a foreign dignitary, angry that the government seeks to institute confiscatory taxation, angry that we have abandoned capitalism if favor of Marxism. The effete snobs of the elitist left believe that we should just shut up and sit down, but I say that the time has come to enforce our will upon the government.

For far too long have we given the left their way because we were beguiled by promises of correcting injustice or because we are going to save the children from some terrible fate. If we commit injustice to correct an injustice, is that not two wrongs making a right? How does that work? If we sacrifice our prosperity to “save the children,” what do we bequeath them for the future? Have we not already hobbled the ones we care most deeply about? This is the illogic of the left dressed in its Sunday finest to hide its ugly and sinister side. This is why the left creates emergency after emergency. They know that they can bend the rules and pull the wool over our eyes if they can create a false emergency and get us worried about it. That is not what America stands for and it is a method of governmental action that causes our founding fathers to do about 2500 rpm in their graves.

The Democrats are no longer the party of Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy. They have forgotten what it means to be an American. They have replaced their pride in their homeland for a love of power and money. This is why they no longer call the atrocity of September 11 a terrorist act. In the deepest recesses of their very soul, they believe that America deserved what she got. Yet, these are the people who now rule Washington and want to tell you what to think. If the Republicans had remained true to conservative principals, at least American’s would have a real choice at the ballot box, but alas, such is not the case.

In the heady days after the 1994 elections, the Republicans became drunk on the sweet wine of success and in the end, abandoned those that they served. Bipartisanship means nothing if you routinely prostitute your core beliefs. It was adherence to these beliefs that won your political victories and at the summit of your success you forgot us. In forgetting conservatism you have given your party a grievous wound. Whether that wound will prove fatal is up to the RNC and those who label themselves as Republican. I hope not, but if American conservatives need to create another party to do battle with the Marxist Democrats, rest assured that we will.

The Marxist Democrats have destroyed our public schools, forced Christianity into retreat, dealt a near fatal blow to our capitalist way of life, degraded our American values, and they now seek to redistribute America’s wealth via entitlements while they brand conservatives enemies of the State. Yes, one can really feel the love streaming from the left in the United States of America today.

The left proclaims the anger and dissatisfaction of the American electorate is nothing more than a fad stirred up by conservatives, but it is their hubris that makes them think that. The left railed about the spending of George W. Bush, but says nothing of the left’s bloated spending that far outstrips anything even considered by the Bush administration. The fact that nary a peep was heard from the left regarding Nancy Pelosi’s torpedoing of the House bailout bill in favor of the Senate’s bill with $150 BILLION dollars of political fun money speaks volumes about their hypocrisy.

But I have news for the left. The sovereignty of the Federal government is not the property of such government. Federal sovereignty is derived from the CONSENT of the governed. That means that the Federal government has no right or authority to fritter away our national sovereignty in order to minimize American freedoms with foreign treaties. When a government goes as far as Barrack Obama’s administration has, it tempts the will of the people to revoke their consent. That is the lesson the left should be taking from the tea parties being held today. Tempt fate if you will, but be prepared to face the whirlwind if you do.

I believe in the principals that form the bedrock of our nation and I stand firm with our founding fathers. I am opposed to abortion. I am opposed to gay marriage. I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment. I believe in the philosophy of John Locke. I believe that the Constitution of the United States of America should be interpreted strictly and that the courts should not legislate from the bench. I believe that the news media are the shills of the left and no longer serve the interests of the public. My own government calls me an extremist while they seek to make enemy combatants citizens, remove them from legal jeopardy, and no longer term their crimes against humanity as terrorism. Janet Napolitano should be fired and forced to scurry back to whatever rock she crawled out from under to travel to Washington in order to accept her position at DHS.

Now that the Department of Homeland Security knows who I am, I only have one more thing to say: Come get some.
