News reports are beginning to appear indicating that we may see the end to the American recession this year, but are they lying to us once again? The news media, acting as the left’s propaganda administration, has invented stories and lied gloriously to the American people in order to publish the left’s agenda. When the news media whores their integrity for their political beliefs they undermine the trust that the American people has placed in them to be their eyes and ears on the national level and in so doing they can no longer be believed. When news agencies such as NBC news has a reputation equivalent to Pravda, one would think that they would wake up to reality, but then one would also expect some shame on the part of the slattern as well.
How then do we, as the public, find the truth regarding the financial news of the day? The American public must become far more educated than it has ever been in order to safeguard our individual liberties from those who would rob us of them. Take the current financial disaster that was gifted to the American people by the left. Barney Frank and his ilk sought to provide affordable housing to all. In order to accomplish that ideal they guaranteed home mortgages with your money. The fact that these mortgages were made to people who either would not or could not pay back the loans did not matter. They forced the banks to make them and then guaranteed them. When the bottom fell out of the housing market due to the massive amount of foreclosures, as it was destined to do, the banking industry went with it.
In 2006, the alarm was raised that the mortgage industry was in trouble and that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were at the heart of it. What did Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, and company do? The protected the corruption, praised the efforts of corrupt executives, and said that the Republicans were lying. Turns out that these legislators were on the payroll of Fannie and Freddie and they were protecting their own asses while yours and mine were set up for the fall. Will any of these Democrats pay the price for their corruption, hubris, and arrogance? Did Barney Frank get removed from his post as the Chair of the oversight committee charged with preventing the kind of fall out that occurred? No.
While Nancy Pelosi swore to give the American people the most open, honest, and ethical Congress in the history of the United States, she lied. What did Nancy do when all of the traditional congressional funny business was going on? Nothing, she turned a blind eye to all of it. Prior to her ascension as the Speaker of the House, she was screaming about the culture of corruption in the Republican administration. Yet, when her own party proves a far worse culprit she remains strangely silent. That is unless you count the screaming she and her people have been doing at the Air Force for things like a much larger jet than the former speaker, closer positioning of the jet in order to suit a more favorable drive time, and her incessant changes in schedule regardless of the inconvenience to Air Force personnel or the taxpayer.
While Nancy Pelosi’s idea of honesty and integrity is a joke, her actions regarding the first stimulus bill is not. Speaker Pelosi torpedoed the 700 billion dollar house bill in favor of 150 billion dollars of political mad money in the Senate version. In a move hailed by Pelosi in the House and Reid in the Senate, both stated that this bill was critical to the survival of the American economy. In fact, it was so critical that over 100 million dollars of the emergency measure would go for booze making in Puerto Rico. Why did the American taxpayer not hear about this? Not because the news media was asleep at the switch, but because they were the shills for the Democrats.
That the left has trouble with the truth is no great surprise to anyone who knows them. For example, four months ago when John McCain said that the fundamentals of the American economy were sound, he was nearly laughed of the stage by the media. When the White House’s chief economic adviser, Christina Romer said the same thing recently, everybody said how smart she was and how we needed her perspective on the economy. Why is it a political land mine when McCain says it four months ago and a bright ray of hope when Romer says it today? Because one is left and one is right and the truth be damned. The fact that Obama never travels without his teleprompter is never mentioned in the media. What that means is that Obama is never off script. He is telling you what has been tested in focus groups and found to resonate. When his teleprompter failed, he sounded like a stammering fool searching for his line and that brings me to my final point.
The left is Kabuki theater. It is scripted, staged, and performed to get your vote. The purpose is to stay in power, not to benefit the nation. As long as they can sucker you into believing that you are their greatest priority, then they have you. Obama is an empty suit that just spouts platitudes. In fact, even Democrats have no idea what “Hope” and “Change” really means, but the fact that Washington is filled with leftovers from the Clinton Administration and the empty suit in the White House is living large while the American taxpayer foots the bill seems to be a clue as to the meaning of the phrase while the Suit works on spending the nation into oblivion.
Obama’s direction on the war on terror has lessened American security and increased our risk. What that means is that he has increased the danger to our lives and infrastructure. He is a novice on the world stage and he has already been played by the Russians while Secretary of State Clinton is passing out gifts with the wrong wording on them and political appointees are dropping like flies secondary to cheating on their taxes. Taxes that they expect you to pay so that they can make more booze in Puerto Rico. Arrogance, hubris, and elitism are the hallmarks of the left. It is not about freedom. It is not about the nation. It is not about suffering. It is not about doing the right thing. It is about power.
What is it that they say about power? Oh yes, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Government at its best is a necessary evil and at its worst is an insufferable tyranny. With the media in bed with the government, we are in great danger of losing our freedoms to a tyranny we will not see sneaking up upon us.
