Here We Go Again

The left’s fascination with global warming is really something. I am beginning to believe the voices that have accused the left of adopting global warming as a religion because they certainly pay no heed to the facts and seem to operate on faith alone. Take the latest move to list polar bears as an endangered species. Alaska says that to list them as such is ridiculous, but the argument of the left is thus, as reported by Fox News:

“"She's either grossly misinformed or intentionally misleading, and both are unbecoming," said Kassie Siegel of the Center for Biological Diversity. ”Alaska deserves better." Siegel said it was unconscionable for Palin to ignore overwhelming evidence of global warming's threat to sea ice, the polar bear's habitat. "Even the Bush administration can't deny the reality of global warming," she said. "The governor is aligning herself and the state of Alaska with the most discredited, fringe, extreme viewpoints by denying this."”

Notice the nice ad hominem attack at the beginning? That is the sort of attack that you use when the facts are not on your side. It is used to divert attention and conceal your weaker argument. Ms. Siegel goes on to then speaks in general terms tied to emotional responses and finally ends by declaring global warming deniers as being extremists and laments that Alaska is aligning itself with such voices. If the facts pertaining to global warming were on her side, why would she not present them rather than to resort to ad hominem attacks and subterfuge? She does so because she knows the truth.

It is akin to the liberal response when they at long last realized that Bill and Hillary Clinton are liars. If I recall correctly, the left’s response was: Gasp! No! They are lying! Then quietly said that they that this was such a surprise because they didn’t lie before because they were both paragons of virtue. What they really meant was that since they were only telling lies about the right and not the left, well that was acceptable. What was unacceptable to them was that the Clintons turned their lies on them. In the interest of truth pertaining to global warming, I shall now provide it:

• The Global mean temperature of the Earth has not risen is TEN years
• Over THIRTY THOUSAND scientists are global warming deniers or if you prefer Ms. Siegel’s term, extremists.
• Computer models designed to simulate the effects of global warming have been proven to be off target by as much as 400%.
• Data presented in support of global warming (the now infamous ‘hockey stick data’) was flawed based on an incorrect algorithm (actually, it is suspected that the incorrect algorithm was intentionally done that way in order to distort the data) that has been used repeatedly by those who support global warming.
• The carbon reabsorption by plants is actually a larger buffer than previously thought and this part of the biomass is now taking in carbon at a much higher rate.
• Volcanism produces more greenhouse gas emissions than man when you get a Krakatoa or a Pinatubo scale eruption.
• NASA has said that man bears no responsibility for global warming given the fact that Mars has tracked with the Earth in the rise of the global mean temperature. This points to the sun as the ultimate cause of global warming despite researchers on the left stating that the sun has no role regarding the rise of the global mean temperature and argue that the Mars data should be ignored.
• Finally, if the weather man cannot tell you what the weather will be next month, what in the name of the nine hells makes you believe that he can tell you the temperature ten years from now?

Despite the fact that “global warming” stopped a decade ago, the left continues the crusade. Guess how many committees/research groups congress has investigating the issue, are you ready for it? The American House of Representatives has six bodies formed to fight global warming. If Congress is so well informed about the issue then how can they be so wrong about the facts? The truth is that they know the truth and that takes us back to the proclivities of the left. You know, that old stand-by of theirs, telling lies.

I have no doubt that the left knows all of the facts that I have given you in this article and I also know that they will lie whenever it is expedient to do so and they will not lose a moments sleep for doing so. Why do you think that the Hollywood elite and Al Gore speak in apocalyptic terms yet fly around the world on private jets adding to the danger? Why does Leonardo DiCaprio speak out against carbon emissions in the United States, but supports gas guzzlers in Japan by doing commercials for them? Why does Kassie Siegel make ad hominem attacks rather than state the truth? Because man’s responsibility for global warming is smoke and mirrors and it better suited to David Copperfield than to politics.

The left said to leave the forests natural and to not cut down the undergrowth and communities burned, the left said that DDT was a dangerous chemical and that it would kill us all and millions have perished in the third world, the left said that eugenics was a good idea and the ovens of the Third Reich were lit. Why does anybody even listen to these fools? They listen because these fools are highly skilled liars. When the Environmental Defense Fund was struggling and looking for a cause they found DDT and helped to ban a valuable and effective pesticide and in so doing brought about the deaths of millions from malaria. Did the left prove that DDT was dangerous? No. In fact, DDT was found to be safe in a court of law, but the fear inspired by their lies caused the permanent ban of the chemical. The left forged the research they cited, made dubious claims about cancers caused by DDT, and even said it was to protect the children. All of it was malarkey.

No one who produced, worked with, or was exposed to DDT ever contracted cancer caused by the chemical. In fact, an entomologist at a well known university in California would take out a bottle of the stuff and drink a tablespoon of it every semester just to prove that DDT was safe. Yet the Environmental Defense Fund perpetuated the hysteria that Rachel Carson began and filled their coffers while elevating them to prominence. It is truly amazing what you can accomplish with skillful lies and the attending useful idiots to tell them. But if the left has no use for the facts, then what value does science hold? None, unless we are speaking of pseudo-science that is designed to support the leftist agenda, but that would require scientists who are less than honest and the left has found them. Never underestimate the power of cold, hard cash or the greed of man.

This is why the left continually cites “science” as the argument ender. With regard to global warming, the left says that the science is settled, that there is consensus, and that any delay is simply dragging the feet when the world is at risk. Yet another tall one from the fine tale spinners of the left, how can the science be settled when over thirty thousand scientists disagree about man’s role in global warming? Doubtless that number is small due to the numbers of scientific personnel who remain silent in order to obtain tenure, keep their jobs, and to be taken seriously as professionals. The left can be dangerous to one’s career if you are on the wrong side of an issue as evidenced by the documentary “Expelled.” It would seem that the free expression of ideas and of speech only pertains to the left and their propaganda. While the left constantly screams about fascism and the right, their suppression of free thought and speech is the fascism that they have been screaming about.

The left will never give up global warming until they have run that dog into the ground. They are making too much money, wield enormous political influence, and have achieved too much prestige on the issue to let it go without a fight. But they can see that the end is coming because nature has run out of gas and stopped warming the planet. Eventually they will have to find another cause to rally behind and milk to death and toward that end they have found compact fluorescent bulbs. Good for global warming now and the 3 mg. of mercury each bulb carries will afford them the next major crises that will kill us all. All they have to do is to lie gloriously, continue the global warming panic, indoctrinate your kids at the public school, and keep your legislators on board long enough to get them into your home and then wait until millions of these bulbs show up at the landfills and contaminate the ground water. Presto! Another environmental catastrophe of epic proportions!

And my friends wonder why I don’t trust the liberals.

Requiem for the GOP

I don’t think that anyone who would call themselves a conservative is proud of the Republican Party at this moment in history. For decades conservatives have given voice to their ideology in argument with the liberal left and we have seen leaders within the Republican Party such as Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan rise and spread the conservative agenda. We fought the liberals tooth and nail for the heart and soul of America so that the United States would stand as a bastion of liberty for the world. We were the underdogs. Congress was a stronghold of liberal thought and the White House was often hostile to the conservative movement and ideology.

We stood and continue to stand for a smaller Federal government because the States respond better to the needs of the American people, a strong military that is able to defend the American homeland and can fight a war on two fronts, reduced taxation because a person has a right to what they have earned by the sweat of their brow, that every person can succeed if they work hard enough and have a decent education, and a judiciary that does not rule by whim, but by strict interpretation of the law and the United States Constitution. Further, we believe in capitalism and trade and that it is the free market that has brought us our standard of living and given wealth to our citizens.

When Ronald Reagan was elected to office for his first term, a new American dawn had arrived because conservatism had arrived at the White House. Despite the best efforts of the liberal left to obstruct Reagan’s agenda, they failed repeatedly and it is that helplessness that engenders the left’s hatred of Reagan today. Then the Republican revolution occurred and the Democrats were left without command of the House and the Senate and Newt Gingrich rose to prominence as Speaker of the House. The contract with America was forged and true progress was made toward making America a better place for all of her citizens, but in the time of victory the Republicans forgot how they arrived in Washington.

The spoils of victory quickly corrupted the morals and values of the party and slowly they began to take on the aspects of their political enemies. They spend like a drunken teenager with Daddy’s credit card forgetting that the future will deliver a bill that they cannot escape from. Worse they now pander to the American people and speak of a “big tent” so that they can keep their fat asses in Washington rather than to stand for what is best for our nation. Today’s Republicans have not only abandoned the conservative principals that brought them power, but they now deride us as well.

John McCain, Bob Corker, and others promote the leftist agenda in order to “get along,” “reach across the aisle,” and “bipartisanship” to continue the dilution of the conservative ideology. In fact, the Republican National Committee even speaks about “branding” and “selling” rather than “believing.” Branding and selling are marketing terms and what they should be speaking about are core beliefs, values, and ethics. If I want to buy something, then I will go to the store and not a political party. I choose political parties based upon shared ideas and values. Selling is based upon an emotional reaction and that is the game that the liberals play. If the Republicans seek to play this game as well then the Republican Party is already dead because it has lost its soul.

I for one am tired of choosing the lesser of two evils and I suspect that many of my fellow conservatives are as well. We do not need to lend our support to a Party that no longer represents our views and bears us hostility. In fact, we could even begin our own Party and move forward from there and then the Republicans and the Democrats could finally and comfortably merge into a single party under Howard Dean. In fact, we could call the new conservative Party the American Party. Values and dreams never die, but they can be abandoned and forgotten. If I were running the RNC, I would take note of the conservative dissatisfaction before the situation became irretrievable.

Give War a Chance

The abyssal failure of the left’s incessant “give peace a chance” rant has neither silenced these dullards nor given them any other stratagems to use in accomplishing their pseudo pacifistic agenda. Let us take a stroll down memory lane and examine the sterling record that is the leftist peace agenda. In World War II, Great Britain’s Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain proclaimed “peace…peace in our time,” as he unveiled his new peace treaty with the German Chancellor. That event launched the World into a conflict far greater than the Great War, which was supposed to be the war to end all wars. The death toll was catastrophic: 72 million people died as a result of “peace in our time.” Way to go Neville!

The American Peace Movement, which was totally subservient to the Soviet Union, was on Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s hind end like a wet diaper. They called him a war monger; they said that the United States was an imperialistic power and that the U.S. would bring about the end of civilization. That was, of course, when Nazi Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics were allies. When Adolf Hitler decided to ignore the non-aggression treaty with the U.S.S.R. and invade, the next day the American Peace Movement became hawks and demanded that the U.S. declare war on Nazi Germany.

Because the rapid change of tune clearly identified the American Peace Movement for what it was, the Soviets changed their name and told them to shut up for the duration. Needless to say, the tools did as they were told. However, they would not remain dormant for long because of events that would unfold in French Indochina.

Dien Bien Phu was the second Waterloo for the French and resulted in the same North/South division in Vietnam as was done in Korea. The Viet Minh held the North while the South was non-communist. President Eisenhower sent military advisors to the South in order to contain the communists in the North, but it was Jack Kennedy who put 16,000 boots on the ground escalating the conflict. It was then, that the Soviets called their tools back into service to work against the American resolve. This was for the dual purpose of needling the United States and to help their brethren in North Vietnam achieve victory.

The peace movement was fueled by a steady stream of cash from the Soviet Union and served as an able reservoir for Soviet propaganda. In fact, the propaganda of the Soviets is still being used by the peace movement today. Notice the red stars, the phraseology, the use of imagery to cause the casual observer fear and doubt at almost any peace protest, and you will be looking through a window into the divisive times of the sixties. As the peace movement grew in the U.S. during the Vietnam War, President Kennedy was assassinated and Lyndon Johnson took office. Johnson would further escalate the war after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. By 1968, there were over a half million troops in Vietnam. This coupled with the draft created a schism in the United States between those who opposed the war (primarily pro-Soviets) and those who did not.

While the United States had won all of the battles of the Vietnam War and emerged victorious after the Tet offensive, our resolve melted due to the actions of the anti-war, give peace a chance, we love the U.S.S.R. and hate the U.S. crowd. Americans, weary from a ten year war and the incessant protests and violence of the left, finally caved and pulled out of Vietnam. This is the ultimate achievement of the left. They caused the United States to lose the Vietnam War and to withdraw in disgrace. The Soviet tools had done their jobs admirably and their masters were pleased because their communist allies could breathe again in the North. Again, peace is given a chance on the world stage. But peace was not kind to the South Vietnamese people. It placed them in re-education camps, beat them, executed them and terrorized them. In short, it was a blood bath providing another long list to add to the still growing list of the casualties of peace.

Today, the left seeks to repeat their greatest success by ham stringing the U.S. at every opportunity while they give aid and comfort to our enemies in the name of peace. They side with jihadist murderers, communist dictators, psychopathic potentates, and anybody else who is the enemy of the United States. They do this so that they can end hostilities and institute peace, but the peace of a grave yard is no peace to the victims of their bile. I for one, do not view these “peace” loving idiots as the dissenters they self righteously claim to be. I view them as enemies of the United States and our way of life.

True dissenters would not attack military personnel or spit on them as they return home from Afghanistan or Iraq. True dissenters would not create insurgencies against the police who try to protect their localities from the arson, looting, and violence of the “peace” protestors. True dissenters would not use the propaganda of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to publish their agenda. Enemies of the United States do these things not those who dissent. True dissent along these lines is rare.

The fact is that we are a nation at war. The Islamic jihadists, our enemy, have been at war with the United States for over thirty years, but the U.S. has not joined the conflict until September 11^th of 2001. Worse, our list of allies grows thin while the fight continues. These are the facts and our list of enemies continues to grow. Iran is murdering our troops in Iraq by providing military advisers and materiel to the Iraqi insurgents. Make no mistake; those are acts of war against the United States of America. There is nothing else that needs to be said, but that we have time. We have time to reconsolidate our military objectives, time to stabilize Afghanistan and Iraq, and time to prepare for the invasion of Iran in order to respond to their acts of war. Any nation that murders our military personnel richly deserves punitive action. That is, unless the former tools of the Soviets continue their perfidy and get their way and once again peace gets a chance.

Peace has had several chances and I say shoot the dove of peace and let’s give war a chance.
