Illegals Got You Down? Put Them on ICE

Sanctuary Cities, they decide to violate Federal law and harbor illegals because they are enamored of the sixties civil disobedience. Ok, fair enough. If that is the call you want to make as a locality then you should be willing to pay the price for your choice. I’m thinking that an Executive Order eliminating all Federal monies from going to the localities is in order. The cut would begin when the next Federal money is set for disbursement and would not end until three years after the locality has come back into compliance with the law. Further, no funds will be held in trust for future reimbursement of lost monies. That means that there will be no back funds given to the city when the Federal dollars return.

How the localities will manage without the Federal dole is their problem. However, if the state steps in to replace the money lost, they will fall under the same penalty. The localities can hold bake sales, raise their local taxes, sell magazines, or solicit donations from the illegals that they harbor, but they won’t get one penny from the U.S. treasury. For far too long, we have put up with the left leaning dolts and their lunacy. If parents of school aged children want to raise their kids in an under funded school system, fine they can stay. Otherwise, responsible parents will relocate in order to provide for a decent education for their children. Citizens concerned because law enforcement cut backs has made crime rise exponentially can also relocate to safer areas. Elderly and disabled citizens can also move because they cannot afford the taxes being levied against them by their liberal friends in the local government.

When a citizen transgresses the law, he must be prepared to pay a penalty. If a group of politicians want to transgress the law because it is trendy to do so, then they should be prepared to pay a penalty. The citizens that voted these people into office will have the choice of standing by their politicians or getting rid of them in favor of more sane candidates. It really is all about your choices. You can either choose to obey the law or you can choose to violate the law and pay the penalty for it. Hordes of angry citizens bearing torches at city hall are just a bonus for your arrogance.

These politicians may weep over Elvira Arellano and her child, but I think that she should have been sent to a Federal penitentiary for five years and then deported. In fact, unless she can prove in a court of law that her son’s father was a citizen of the United States, he should be deported as well. The law states that birth within our borders grants you citizenship, but I think that it is high time that we changed the law to read that at least one of your parents must have status as a citizen.

In 1986 we thought that this problem was solved. We gave immunity to millions of illegals because we allegedly could not deport all of them. Today, we have five times as many and the argument of the day is the same as it was then. I say we spend a few trillion dollars and boot their asses out of the country and prove that yes, we can deport all of you. If we can put a man on the moon, I know that we can sure as hell deport twenty million people. All it takes is the will to do it. Unfortunately, it appears that the illegals have more will to violate our borders than we have to preserve our sovereignty. In fact, there are politicians who want nothing more than to give illegals a voice in our government!

For the record, I have absolutely nothing against immigration, but when it comes to illegal immigration I will not abide it. These people are parasites. They drain resources that rightfully belong to the taxpayers and give nothing back. They receive free health care, free schooling, free WIC benefits, and free dental care. They forge documents in a continuing criminal enterprise to support their illegal habitation in the United States. In fact, illegals have created documents that have already assisted in facilitating terrorism in the United States. Several of the 9/11 terrorists had forged identity documents made by a ring of illegal immigrants in Northern Virginia. They drive unlicensed and uninsured and kill American citizens when they drink to excess and then drive. They open stores that cater to their own kind in an effort to remain under the radar and send millions of dollars back to their home countries. Yet people like Geraldo Rivera paint illegals as the salt of the earth and say that they are above reproach and say that we should have pity for them and grant them citizenship.

If we grant amnesty to the millions of illegal immigrants currently residing in our borders, how do we explain to the immigrants who came to our shores legally that we care more for the illegals than we do for them? They applied for a resident visa, they went through the vetting process, and in some cases they had to wait years for an answer. If I went through that process and then some illegal that cut the fence on the Southern border and snuck in got citizenship, I would be angry. Those who promote open borders never seem to have an answer for those people. The simply ignore them in favor of the illegals.

The weasels in Washington are simply waiting for Americans to become preoccupied with something else so that they can cut a deal behind our backs. Don’t let them do it. Hold their feet to the fire and demand that they get real on the immigration issue, secure our borders, toughen enforcement, shut down the so called sanctuary localities, deport those here illegally, and then we can talk about reforming the immigration process.

September 11, 2001 – Another Day of Infamy

As I reflect back on that day, I cannot help but to mourn for those lost in the attack and for their families. Six years later, there is still pain. I remember leaving work that morning after a meeting and heading home. I switched on the radio and I was immediately faced with the news that a small plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center building. I thought that it must have been an inexperienced pilot or a severe navigation error that caused the craft to strike one of the towers.

Minutes later, it was reported that a second plane had struck the South tower and although I was stunned, I knew that we were at war. When I arrived home, I switched on the TV and beheld a sight that has been burned into my soul. The two towers were burning, there were thousands dead, and people were panicking all over Manhattan. I called one of my friends to speak to him about what was going on and he was just as shocked and dazed as I was. We remained on the phone together trying to sort out what was happening when another plane struck the Pentagon.

That was when the shock had worn off and I was left with sadness and anger. Sadness for the suffering of the innocent who were murdered that day and anger for the malice it took to accomplish these acts. In one stroke, our enemy had butchered our citizens, wounded our economy, stripped us of our sense of safety in our own homes, and violently changed our lives forever. Despite the insults we suffered already in one morning, there were further developments that would be indelibly burned into our consciousness.

I said, “Oh, my God” when I witnessed the North tower collapse. I did not feel shock, just disbelief. Once before the Trades had been attacked, but they did not fall from the bombs that were detonated inside them and I recalled how when one of the subjects was being returned to New York by helicopter the FBI agent said, “Look, they are still standing” as they flew past the World Trade Center. His prisoner simply smiled and replied, “But not for long.” As I watched the plume of smoke storm through the streets of downtown Manhattan, chasing the citizens of New York to engulf them in the horror of what had just happened, my anger grew deeper. As I was trying to sift through my thoughts in order to make sense of what was happening I could hear my friend’s breathing through the phone. We had shared this moment of shock and horror as words slowly returned to us both. As we were discussing what we had seen, the second tower collapsed, underscoring the first event.

My friend’s voice was filled with emotion when he told me that he had to go. I understood exactly what he meant. What we had seen was too painful to share, it was a private pain. In addition to the thousands of people killed, we knew that we had just witnessed the deaths of hundreds of firefighters and scores of law enforcement officers. There is a bond between public safety personnel. Police, Fire, and EMS all serve the public in difficult and dangerous circumstances and we tend to view each other as family because we can relate to each other because of our shared experiences. We flirt with danger and emerge unscathed. Such a situation tends to make you cocky. The public safety motto could very well be, “We fight what you fear.” Occasionally, we lose the fight. On September 11th, we lost big time. I did not know the numbers of my extended family that were killed, but I knew that it would be a large number.

I turned off the TV and went to bed in order to get ready for the next midnight shift. I was exhausted and mentally numb and I sought sleep to escape from what I had seen. When I awoke at about six o’clock that night, the first thing I did was to turn on the TV again. I had to be sure that I actually saw what I had seen earlier. I had. The news coverage was repeating the story over and over again. I saw planes crashing into the World Trades and Pentagon and then the Trades falling with the panic stricken citizens fleeing for their lives as they were pursued by the cloud of debris. I heard the words of the President and I saw the celebration and laughing of the Palestinians in response to our tears. It was then that I felt the need for vengeance.

Had an act of God created the same catastrophe there would have been sadness and pain, but you cannot take such things personally. These attacks were the work of men however and I took what happened very personally. Had I been younger, I would have enlisted in the Army and asked for a combat assignment. Payback is a bitch and I wanted to be part of the delivery team, but such was not to be. Today, I sometimes have to remind myself that Islam is not my enemy, radical Islam is. I have had the opportunity to meet many who profess a faith in Islam and they have been good and decent people, but it is hard to erase the image of the Arab response to our suffering from my mind.

I have learned to live with my anger in the intervening years because it will not go away. I still mourn for my fallen comrades and their families and for the innocents who were slaughtered that dark day and I still want the head of Osama Bin Laden on a pike, but I must also live my life. As time passes and more years separate me from that day, I will think less and less about those events, but I will never forget them and September 11th will always resurrect the ghosts of that day again in my mind.

Liberals Write Osama Bin Laden Speech!!

Not really, but it sure is eerie how they both sound alike isn’t it? In fact, they sound like two halves of the same coin, except for the religious part. I truly wonder if there isn’t a liberal fifth column assisting Al Qaeda in its war with America. It certainly would not be out of character for them. The New York Times spews national secrets regarding the war as if they were reporting a sale at Penney’s, the liberal politicians are in conclave attempting to torpedo any good news about Iraq so that they can pull our troops out, anti-war protestors are attacking our military at home both verbally and physically, and Bin Laden is also reading the liberal recommended book list and he just adores Noam Chomsky. These people have not changed since they formed their socialist agenda in the 1960’s when they were funded by and politically supported the Soviet and Chinese communist governments. How far would it be to reach for radical Islam as a cause to perpetuate their hatred of America?

These people are famous for blurring the lines, causing confusion, and then saying that they are for what their opponent is for while they try to stab him in the back. Teddy Kennedy’s letter to the Soviet KGB and the Democrats adoption of the GOP family values are examples of this tactic. I wonder how many tries Teddy has made to get a letter to Iran or Bin Laden offering his support in an effort to undermine the United States recently?

Bin Laden says that our national prestige has taken a beating and he is right. But he is only right because the cowardice of Europe allows the Islamofascists to run rough shod over them. The national policies of France caused rioting by its immigrant population for nearly a month on its streets, a paper in the Netherlands ran some cartoons featuring the Prophet Mohamed and there were world wide riots, demonstrations, and mayhem, Spain caves to the terrorist bombing of trains in their country and changes their government in an effort to appease radical Islam, and we should model ourselves on them to win favor? Enlightened Europe is burning and it will continue to burn until it finds its back bone and stands up to Islamofascism. Yet there are voices here that want us to be more like Europe while they remain silent regarding the application of their beliefs.

Where are the liberals supporting the women abused by a cruel and hateful form of Islam? I don’t see Patricia Ireland out there fighting for them. I don’t see Nancy Pelosi fighting for them. I don’t see Kim Gandy setting her organization up against them. In fact, the liberals have abandoned that ship where the women of Islam are concerned. That’s because Islamic radicals will issue a fatwa on the people they don’t like and try to kill them. That is why they have abandoned these women, because it is better to sacrifice them than to risk their own ass in the promotion of their beliefs.

And that is where the liberals and radical Islamists separate. For radical Islam, there can be no higher calling than to die for your beliefs and they are pragmatic in their approach. That is why on September 11th of 2001 more people died than were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Oh sure, the liberals talk a good game regarding violence when it is directed at the GOP, or President Bush, or conservatives, or unarmed soldiers walking down the street, but when the odds are even? They change their tune.

The United States of America has stood for freedom and the rights of man in the darkest of times. We have shed our own and dearest blood for those ideas and not just for ourselves, but for all men. Today we are at war. We are at war with an enemy who hates us with all the passion that a man can muster. He not only wants to kill us all, he wants to extinguish the light of freedom so that man can be cast back into darkness. He wants to destroy our way of life and our economy. He wants total war.

Our war is not only with Osama Bin Laden, it is with radical Islam. That is who our enemy is and he is a mortal enemy. Our enemy has clearly stated his intentions, he is firm in his beliefs, and he has declared war on the people of the United States. He will kill us wherever he finds us in the world and we are not safe within our own borders. This enemy must be destroyed if we are to have peace. There is no other way. While others will argue that we should appease, and negotiate they only waste time while our enemy grows stronger. Have you ever tried to negotiate with a bullet or a block of Semtex? You won’t get very far with them.

Ironically, this enemy has much in common with the Nazis and those who argue for appeasement and negotiation have never suggested that they were the preferred methods for settling that dispute. Yet they march for a peace that will never come until they agree to convert to radical Islam and live under Sharia law. Something I am confident that they would do to save their own skins while the rest of us are beheaded as infidels. It really is a pity that the money spent by the Soviet Union in support of the liberal left in the 1960’s paid off, but that the Soviet Union itself imploded before it could realize its investment, yet the weasels inculcated in the doctrines of our Cold War enemy continue to spread the poison oblivious to the harm it does to our nation. Whether intentional or not, they are a fifth column for the enemies of America.

While they bristle when somebody questions their patriotism, Bin Laden sure sounds like he is on the same page as they are and nobody ever accused him of loving America. In my book, if you know the words and the music you probably know the dance steps as well. You cannot love and take pride in America and wish for its destruction at the same time, but oh how they love to try. The Liberal Avenger even accuses Bush and Bin Laden of being soul mates and completely ignores the text of the speech that Bin Laden gave. Truly, politics in this country has achieved the level of sports teams with one side rooting for their team and bad mouthing the other despite the facts. It would be amusing to watch if people’s lives were not at stake. The last joke however, may very well be on them. If we do lose this war, in no small part due to their efforts, they may find themselves in a position one day wondering “what the hell was I thinking?’

War: What Does It Mean?

When you think of a war, what images spring to mind? Sure, there is killing and bombed out towns, and your own being returned to their families in body bags, but what purpose does it serve? Simply put, war is the continuance of diplomacy by other means. In essence, when talks break down we will attempt to achieve by force of arms what we could not do with our voice and economic incentives. Our national policy has not changed, just the methods.

However, some people seem to think that a war should be a short and sweet affair with minimal enemy casualties. Such people are seriously misinformed about the nature of warfare. Once a nation realizes that it cannot achieve its national policy objectives via talks and/or international and economic sanctions it can resort to warfare in order to achieve them. The object of war is simple; destroy the opposition of the enemy state to our national policy. This includes carpet bombing major population centers, destroying the opposing armed forces, destroying the enemy logistics, and pursuing fleeing forces and destroying them. None of this activity ceases until there are acceptable terms of surrender.

While you may take issue with attacking the citizens of the enemy state, you are a fool to do so. The only way to defeat an enemy is to defeat his will and killing his wife and children will certainly accomplish that. Front line troops do not wish to remain on the front line if their family is threatened. That is why we fire bombed Dresden and dropped nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is brutal, but it is also very effective and ultimately it will save enemy lives.

I say that enemy lives will be saved because they will not die due to a prolonged civil insurgency aimed at dislodging occupying troops. For example, the insurgency that is ongoing in Iraq today. If we had bombed them into submission and broken their will, we would have pacified the country long ago. Even Saudi Arabia wondered why Fallujah was still standing as a city when it became apparent that it was the source of insurgency. What the American military should have done is destroy the city and I mean that in the Roman sense of the word. There should not have been one stone standing on another and the fields and the well poisoned. If we had done that, then we would not be dealing with the insurgency today.

Yet, I know that my countrymen find such a practice anathema and we are stuck in a quagmire of our own manufacture. War is not pretty, low cost, friendly, easy on the environment, or pleasant for anyone. It is by nature a brutal, deadly, costly, destructive, and hateful affair and it is that way for a reason. If such were not the case, then war would be a far more favorable alternative to talking and men would resort to it out of convenience. I like targeting civilians about as much as you probably do, but it is necessary to break the will of our enemy.

Additionally, we should not allow our enemy any sanctuary. If he hides in a Mosque, then destroy the Mosque. If he hides in a world heritage site, then destroy the site. The point is if your enemy goes to ground then you leave no ground to go to. Enemy combatants must know that they are safe nowhere and that includes religious sites, schools, and hospitals. Wherever the enemy is found, that is the battlefield and there are no exceptions. While my tactics may be unpalatable to most of my countrymen, it is nevertheless practical and practical wins wars. I say this because it was not that long ago that the world believed in a gentleman’s conduct of warfare. Napoleon disabused the world of that idea and I have no wish to be on the receiving end of such a lesson and neither should you.
