Sanctuary Cities, they decide to violate Federal law and harbor illegals because they are enamored of the sixties civil disobedience. Ok, fair enough. If that is the call you want to make as a locality then you should be willing to pay the price for your choice. I’m thinking that an Executive Order eliminating all Federal monies from going to the localities is in order. The cut would begin when the next Federal money is set for disbursement and would not end until three years after the locality has come back into compliance with the law. Further, no funds will be held in trust for future reimbursement of lost monies. That means that there will be no back funds given to the city when the Federal dollars return.
How the localities will manage without the Federal dole is their problem. However, if the state steps in to replace the money lost, they will fall under the same penalty. The localities can hold bake sales, raise their local taxes, sell magazines, or solicit donations from the illegals that they harbor, but they won’t get one penny from the
When a citizen transgresses the law, he must be prepared to pay a penalty. If a group of politicians want to transgress the law because it is trendy to do so, then they should be prepared to pay a penalty. The citizens that voted these people into office will have the choice of standing by their politicians or getting rid of them in favor of more sane candidates. It really is all about your choices. You can either choose to obey the law or you can choose to violate the law and pay the penalty for it. Hordes of angry citizens bearing torches at city hall are just a bonus for your arrogance.
These politicians may weep over Elvira Arellano and her child, but I think that she should have been sent to a Federal penitentiary for five years and then deported. In fact, unless she can prove in a court of law that her son’s father was a citizen of the
In 1986 we thought that this problem was solved. We gave immunity to millions of illegals because we allegedly could not deport all of them. Today, we have five times as many and the argument of the day is the same as it was then. I say we spend a few trillion dollars and boot their asses out of the country and prove that yes, we can deport all of you. If we can put a man on the moon, I know that we can sure as hell deport twenty million people. All it takes is the will to do it. Unfortunately, it appears that the illegals have more will to violate our borders than we have to preserve our sovereignty. In fact, there are politicians who want nothing more than to give illegals a voice in our government!
For the record, I have absolutely nothing against immigration, but when it comes to illegal immigration I will not abide it. These people are parasites. They drain resources that rightfully belong to the taxpayers and give nothing back. They receive free health care, free schooling, free WIC benefits, and free dental care. They forge documents in a continuing criminal enterprise to support their illegal habitation in the
If we grant amnesty to the millions of illegal immigrants currently residing in our borders, how do we explain to the immigrants who came to our shores legally that we care more for the illegals than we do for them? They applied for a resident visa, they went through the vetting process, and in some cases they had to wait years for an answer. If I went through that process and then some illegal that cut the fence on the Southern border and snuck in got citizenship, I would be angry. Those who promote open borders never seem to have an answer for those people. The simply ignore them in favor of the illegals.
