Reaping What You Sow

“This points to a serious breakdown not just on civility, but in the ability of people to properly debate various issues. As such, it presents a serious threat to the integrity of this site.” Kos

This was part of the response by Kos in response to the scrutiny his site is currently experiencing. I seriously doubt that he means it of course, but he did say it so in theory he is a good guy. If I recall correctly, didn’t Kos say that he would like to assassinate John Kerry at one time? I didn’t read a retraction about that. Regardless, that seems to be the liberal fad these days. It is stylish to fantasize about murdering politicians. Cindy Sheehan even had a fantasy about going back in time and murdering George W. Bush when he a child. Funny, but I don’t remember Kos telling her to tone it down. But now they are worried about civility? Spare me.

It never ceases to amaze me how the left can get away with this garbage constantly. Nancy Pelosi can call the President a mental incompetent and nobody says a word. Ann Coulter makes a comment about Edwards and the roof caves in. What am I missing? Perhaps the left gets away with this behavior because CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, etc. secretly believes what the unhinged left are saying. Maybe that is why more than 80% of Americans believe that the media is biased. Personally, I don’t know anyone who still trusts the network news and I won’t believe them unless I can confirm what they are saying with at least two independent sources, but I digress. Despite the protests of the left, there have been many incidents that pale in comparison to anything said by Ann Coulter. Consider the following examples:

Anti-war leftist attempts to murder airman:

“The 22-year-old McGuire Air Force Base airman who was the target of an attempted murder-suicide in Willingboro last week remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition, a military official said today.” Posted on M. Malkin’s site

Liberals demonstrate their fervent desire for peace:

“PARKLAND, Wash. -- The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is searching for five people who allegedly attacked a uniformed National Guardsmen walking along 138th Street in Parkland Tuesday afternoon.

The soldier was walking to a convenience store when a sport utility vehicle pulled up alongside him and the driver asked if he was in the military and if he had been in any action.

The driver then got out of the vehicle, displayed a gun and shouted insults at the victim. Four other suspects exited the vehicle and knocked the soldier down, punching and kicking him.

“And during the assault the suspects called him a baby killer. At that point they got into the car and drove off and left him on the side of the road,” Detective Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The suspects were driving a black Chevy Suburban-type SUV.

“This is something new for us, we have not had military people assaulted because they were in the military or somebody's opposition to a war or whatever,” Troyer said.

The driver is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy build, short blond hair, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, and armed with a handgun.

The vehicle's passengers are described as white males, 20-25 years old. Some of the suspects wore red baseball hats and red sweatshirts during the attack.” As posted on Leaning Strait Up.

In addition to these two incidents, a woman in her late twenties asked a man if he were a soldier at a New Jersey airport. The soldier was a member of the 10th Mountain Division and stationed at Fort Drum. When he told the woman that he was a soldier, she spit in his face and departed. The woman was subsequently arrested for her actions.

Strange that these acts of liberal hatred don’t make it to the national news isn’t it? Still, I don’t hear Kos complaining about it. Kos seems to think that he can have it both ways. He can uncork a keg of hatred and vitriol and hose down his political enemies and then say he is sorry and that we need to remain civil in order to have a constructive dialog about political issues. What Kos does not realize is that he and his fellow liberals have fostered the above behavior regardless of their personal intentions and while they point at the right and say Nazi, that label really describes them.

Further, the time for reason may be long past. Such behavior breeds hard feelings and deep anger in your opponents and it is extremely difficult to eradicate these feelings. Your actions have polarized this nation. In fact, the polarization is now so strong that Americans may never stand united again and a people that cannot stand united will fall. You have also created enemies within your own group and have thus fractured the Democratic Party. These cracks in the facade of the liberal party will cause splinter factions within the party diluting its strength and forcing your leaders into compromises that they otherwise would never have considered as well as spawn competing parties that will dilute the votes of your base.

In short, your hatred has sown the seeds of your own destruction and you are beginning to reap what you have sown. The only thing left to see is whether you can uproot the sprouts in time and repair the damage. Only time will tell.

I Gots Me A Edumication

When you take a look at Professor Ward Churchill, you have to ask yourself what the hell is wrong with liberals. Are they insane? Are they stupid or psychotic? Do they have any concept of reality? You see, Ward Churchill is a university professor in Boulder and he said that America had it coming on September 11, 2001 and why worry about “the little Eichmans” who were butchered. He has even asked why the Arabs did what we should have done ourselves. Despite his sick and twisted outlook on the incident, he is currently fighting with the ACLU to keep his job as a professor.

While the school has ruled that his 9/11 comments were extremely stupid and hurtful to many Americans, they nevertheless ruled that the comments were protected free speech and case closed. However, there is the sticky problem of plagiarism, research misconduct, and misrepresentation of race to color his ludicrous positions (i.e. He is a white boy who claims to be an American Indian.) Additionally, he is a supporter of terrorism, having claimed to have been a founding member of the Weather Underground and a pathological liar. In other words he is a quintessential liberal.

Shockingly, he is still an educator at an institution of higher learning. One would think that it would be difficult for such a person to hold a position of trust in a university, but such is not the case. Take for example the status of the leaders of The Weather Underground terror group who sought to over throw the United States government. The former leaders of this remarkably liberal organization are also college professors. It would seem that the academic ivory tower is where old liberal terrorists go to spew their hatred of America or to take action on issues that they do not understand. Case in point: Duke University.

The Duke University rape case is a prime example of the liberal lefts focus on guilty until proven innocent, particularly in the faculty of the University. The Duke lacrosse player were formally charged with rape and more than fifty faculty members wrote a letter to the University demanding that the students be expelled and never allowed to return before the adjudication of the case. Personally, if I were on the Board of Regents that letter would have constituted a termination list regardless of academic standing, projects, or any other consideration including tenure. To date, the academic luminaries have not apologized to the lacrosse players for their false accusations of guilt or if they have it certainly was not anywhere near as strident as their dimwitted insult.

Yet these same radical leftists want our unswerving belief in every word that pops out of their mouth because it is “science”? Pardon me, but have you ever heard the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf? Usually, the academic shenanigans of the left are not seen in the mainstream world and they can get away with them. I say we need transparency in our schools and we need to shine the light on these academic thugs. Parents have the right to know who is teaching their children and more importantly, what is being taught. I am willing to bet that most parents do not want their children proselytized with liberal hatred and stupidity. If that means that terror leaders and academic scum like Churchill cannot find employment, tough luck. They have made their bed through their actions. Now let them lay in it.

UPDATE - Ward Churchill was terminated from the University. Churchill says he will see them in court.

Theory versus Reality

It is interesting when you examine the spin placed on a typical news story. I first encountered a story about Michael and Lana Straw who were arrested for child abuse. You see, the couple had two children that they neglected in order to get their video game fix. Their ten month old daughter had a mouth infection, hair matted to her scalp by cat urine, and severe dehydration. Their twenty-two month old son had a genital infection, starvation, and muscle depletion where his body began feeding on itself.

One might think that here was a couple who was destitute and only played the video game to escape from the desperate reality created from poverty and by an uncaring government, but no. Michael Straw had received a 50,000 dollar inheritance and his wife Lana was working. In fact, they had plenty of food in the house. They had a plasma TV, high end computer equipment and a working internet connection. What they lacked was giving a damn about their children.

Theoretically they were good parents, but it turns out that theory is vastly different from reality. Don’t take my word for it; look at what Lana straw posted to her MySpace account:

“ What’s Wrong With Our Kids?

Do you really have to ask? Open your eyes. The problem isn’t that the next mass murderer may be sitting right next to you, sleeping in your house, eating at your table, giving you every signal of desperation a person can give. The problem is, you don’t want to see it. How else does a child become an emotionally alienated, psychologically twisted, mass murderer, unnoticed by everyone?”

Uhhh…because mom and dad needed to level their D&D characters and the kids can go to hell and starve for all they care? Lana? Hello…hello?

Posted like a caring, loving, and concerned individual. Unfortunately, that was theory. The reality for her own children was far different while she stuffed her own face and entertained herself by playing a video game with her theoretically caring and loving husband. On the other hand, one could argue that the couple was simply working on a retroactive abortion and letting the kids work out amongst themselves who was going first. I mean, really, these are not truly children they are simply tissue. At least theoretically they are a collection of cells if that is what it takes to salve your conscience.

That is the problem with society, politics, and religion. Theoretically, we care about you, but otherwise you are on your own. That is why people whine about global warming, child abuse and neglect, crime, and every other topic of interest. It is far easier to theoretically care about something than it is to actually expend the effort to take action. That is why a 10 month old girl and her twenty-two month old brother very nearly died because they had to take a back seat to their parent’s online gaming.

We need to abandon the theoretical and embrace genuine solutions if we are to solve societal problems. While the theoretical model of what passes for parenting may sound nice, it all too often results in tragedy for the children. So that you don’t think that I am overreacting, consider how the left uses their children. During the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle a few years back, the protestors brought their young children and elderly (the two most vulnerable demographics in any society) to the protests so that the police could not use tear gas on the crowd to maintain order. Yes, you heard me right. They used children as human shields so that mommy and daddy wouldn’t get gassed for setting automobiles on fire. Hey, if the kid gets his head caved in from a baton swing because mom bobbed when she should have weaved we get to whine about police brutality and get a lawyer.

Yet these same people will rail about how we must do “insert socialist talking point here” for the children and they will tell you this with a sob in their voice and a tear in their eye while they hide behind theses self same children. Theoretically, they love their children, but when the rubber bullets and the tear gas start, they will valiantly give up their offspring so that they may protest another day. Bravo mom and dad that will show the conservative nutcases that you mean business.

So the next time you watch these weasels march or try to level a virtual character, you will know where their head is.

Cowardice and Liberalism

One has to admire the staunch cowardice of the liberals. Not for the cowardice itself, mind you, but for the strategy employed. You see, without them ever risking their precious hind ends, they can let loose with the fire hose of vitriol in safety. That is why you never hear a liberal saying something ugly about those who will kill them like they do Bush. For example when Betty Williams, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and keynote speaker at he International Women’s Peace Conference, said that she would like to murder George Bush in her keynote address in order to set the tone of the conference. Now, I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t think that homicide would be a good tone for a peace conference. Conversely, had she been the keynote speaker at the International Woman’s Assassination Conference, she would have done well.

If this is who the Nobel Prize Committee is awarding peace prizes to, I wonder what definition of peace they are using. Regardless, Betty Williams is not atypical in her sentiments. The illustrious Cindy Sheehan once had a fantasy about traveling back in time to snuff out the life of George W. Bush when he was a helpless child. While these are just two examples of the liberal lust for murder, there are many, many more. So, if George W. Bush is the pariah of the west, then how about people like Bin Laden, Zawahiri, and others of their ilk? Cruise the liberal blogs, listen to the liberal candidates for President, and listen to Air America, read liberal opinion papers and do you know that is being said? Not one damned thing.

Then you begin to wonder why that is and it is then that the answer becomes obvious. George W. Bush has never issued a fatwa on a liberal, but those crazy jihadists sure as hell have a habit of doing so. Look at Salman Rushdie, he wrote one book and then the Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa on him and he had to go into hiding to keep from being killed. In fact, Rushdie’s security detail is equivalent to that of a government official. Say what you will about a liberal, but they are not stupid. They know that security like Rushdie’s is expensive and even the best security has flaws. So why take the chance that some Islamic extremist will get mad at you and issue a fatwa, when you can use George W. Bush for your punching bag in safety?

Which is why I call them craven, oh sure you will have a few that said something along the lines of “Osama Bin Laden must be caught” or “Zawahiri dresses funny” or some other such drivel in an obscure source which is not likely to be seen by the affected party. However, you will never hear one of them brazenly stating the facts about radical Islam, its mutilation and subjugation of its women, or the attacks on the innocent. Why? Because a radical Islamist will pay you a visit to take action on a fatwa that has been issued on you for your lack of respect. Those guys have no sense of humor.

So we get opening statements at a peace conference where the keynote speaker wistfully wishes that she could murder President George Bush. I suppose that the women have a point though, they did bring peace to four million souls when they aborted their births. I mean, it is certainly no small feat to commit murder when you were terminated in the womb and then burned with the garbage or just flushed down the commode. Come to think of it, these gals could issue their own fatwa on conservatives. In fact, we could call it a libwa, the gals just gather around and pick who going to be beheaded this week and proclaim a libwa on that person and presto! No more conservative problem. Rush Limbaugh? Libwa! Glenn Beck? Libwa! President George W. Bush? Libwa! Dick Cheny? Libwa! Ann Coulter? Libwa!

Soon the women will be dancing over their corpses and drinking herbal tea celebrating the peace that they have brought to the world. Hell, the Nobel Peace Prize may even be awarded to the group for their stellar service to humanity. Then…oh wait, I forgot, most conservatives have guns. Nuts, full circle back to risking a liberal’s hind parts, never mind.

Reagan: The Great Communicator

When I decided to write about Ronald Reagan as a public speaker, I was determined not to write a panegyric. However, even setting aside my admiration of the man, it is difficult to find fault in his speaking style aside from an occasional gaffe. It was this realization that led me to the conclusion that Ronald Reagan was more than a great communicator. Reagan was arguably, the greatest public speaker of modern times.

While one could argue that Reagan was only effective because of the office of the President, they would be wrong. While Reagan did speak with national authority, he also spoke as the repository of the American will. Where Ronald Reagan walked, the hopes and dreams of America went with him. It was the combination of this energy, his status as leader of the free world, and his charisma as a man that catapulted him to greatness on the world stage. But more than that, Reagan offered America hope and invited her citizens to revisit the foundations of our freedoms while he challenged us to dream. That was the spiritual side of Reagan. In truth, one could say that he was our Pericles.

Reagan did not use fear to motivate the American public. Instead he appealed to our sense of honor and duty. He believed in the basic goodness and decency of men and the principals upon which our Nation was founded. When Reagan was speaking about the future of America, he was at his best and most eloquent. One of the most famous of Ronald Reagan’s quotes was:

"How can we not believe in the greatness of America? How can we not do what is right and needed to preserve this last best hope of man on earth? After all our struggles to restore America, to revive confidence in our country, hope for our future, after all our hard-won victories earned through the patience and courage of every citizen, we cannot, must not, and will not turn back. We will finish our job. How could we do less? We're Americans."

It is difficult to read those words without feeling a pride in America and a belief in our destiny as a nation. Reagan always implied that we have a responsibility to our fellow man to remove the boot of tyranny from the neck of the world. It was this belief that forced him to ignore the advice of his advisors and to challenge the Soviet President to tear down the Berlin wall that spelled the beginning of the end for Soviet communism.

Reagan’s honest belief in America, freedom, and the goodness of man is what made his words resonate in the hearts of the citizens. Even today, after so many years, I can still feel the patriotism and hope that he inspired. I would watch him give an address and be in awe of the man, not because of his status as a political leader, but because he challenged us to shoulder the responsibility to bring liberty to the oppressed peoples of the world. In short, he made me an idealist. It was his honest belief in men and the promise of America that foiled his political enemies time and again. They would attempt to block passage of legislation to break his political momentum and Reagan would take his side to the American people in his radio address and in press conferences and his opponents would be forced to back down. I daresay that even twenty years after the fact those men are still discomforted when they reflect on those days.

Many politicians have attempted to emulate Reagan’s style, but an honest belief in what you are saying cannot be emulated. The result is inevitable as these politicians stumble and fall. Greatness is an inherently American trait. When I think about the great leaders our nation has produced names like Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Reagan come to mind. We were fortunate to have lived during the time of Reagan and be a first hand witness to the power of a great public speaker and leader.

An Open Letter to Congress

Lawmakers in Washington would be well advised to set aside their arrogance and to listen to the American people and not the lobbyists. During the immigration reform debacle, we had seasoned politicians chiding the American people for being ignorant of the facts and having been led by the nose by talk radio. These comments were heard from both sides of the aisle and the left was just as angry as the right.

I would like to remind these politicians of some basic facts. First, you work for us not the other way around. You are our servants. Second, the Federal government derives ALL of its power from the consent of the governed. A consent that can be withdrawn at any time leaving you as the powerless windbags you have proven yourselves to be. Third, you are doing a piss poor job. Your public approval rating is fourteen percent. Conversely, the President’s approval rating is twenty-eight percent. What the hell are you doing up there?

The voters of this nation sent you to Washington to work for us and to pass legislation that would benefit this nation. Yet, you obstinately refuse to do your job. The recent “amnesty for illegal aliens” is only the most recent and egregious example of your incompetence. The American people are sick and tired of your quest for personal wealth and power at our expense. Additionally, if you continue to thumb your noses at us there are other measures which can be taken to solve the problem. Some examples of these measures include: Voting you out of office, initiating term limitations, constitutional amendments to curb your abuse of legislative authority, and ultimately the revocation of consent to be governed by you if you continue in your ways.

In conclusion, I strongly encourage you to do your job for the citizens who sent you to Washington D.C. in the first place. If you choose to continue down the path you are on, you will not like where you end up. You have been warned.
